About Me

CURRENT MISSION

appreciating life

ABOUT ME

I love seeing the world, meeting people, eating good food, sharing ideas, and trying new things. I'm curious about almost everything. I always have a million ideas but am usual content wherever I happen to be. I'm afraid of heights, but I don't usually let that stop me. I'd rather not have a car, but I do enjoy singing at the top of my lungs with the windows down. I enjoy cities and wilderness (but not really suburbs). I like walking. I am always trying to simplify my life (and realize that the irony is that it would probably be simpler if I stopped trying!)

PHILOSOPHY

do good and have more fun. enjoy the moment. always look for the good first. maintain equilibrium (it's not static!). do your best in the moment, do what seems right, without concern for what the results may be. abundance is everywhere :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just getting started...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met lots of couchsurfers but was hosted for the first time in Mumbai! Had an amazing experience, can't wait to see my new friends again, and am looking forward to meeting more CSers.

After my first few couch surfing experiences in India (which were excellent), my travels were unexpectedly cut short and I had to beat a fast track back home. The last few years I haven't been in a living situations suitable for hosting, but I've met lots of travelers and CSers in Missoula. One of my good friends hosts frequently, and I've enjoyed meeting and entertaining his couch surfing visitors. I'm excited to be back on the road for the first time in a long time and looking forward to meeting new friends!

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite movies: At this moment, Kambakth Ishq, though I haven't seen the final result yet, and Kal Ho Naa Ho, if only it were about half the length.

Books: Too many to even list. Where do I start? Lots of young adult and children's lit (teacher for too long!). Amitav Ghosh. Terry Tempest Williams. Terry Pratchett. Douglas Adams.

Music: Anything I can dance too. Also: Wah!, Ozomatli, State Radio, The Wood Brothers, Donavon Frankenreiter, Stephen Marley, O.A.R., Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi, Abigail Washburn & the Sparrow Quartet, Widespread Panic

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have ever seen is the look on someone's face and the light in their eyes when they learn something new. Whether it is one of my student's learning to read or to solve a math problem

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm just a budding yoga teacher (I feel silly even saying that in India!), but I am always happy to share an asana practice!

My boyfriend and I are also budding farmers, and we're always happy to lend a hand with chores and projects -- nothing we love more than working in the dirt!

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, Greece, India, Italy, Nicaragua

Countries I’ve Lived In
