About Me

I am a very open and outgoing person who loves to travel and meet new people. I am always in on adventures and like to explore new things :)

Currently, I am in Canada on a Working Holiday Visa. I didn't enjoy my office job back home anymore, so I quit and left in the spring of 2018. Last summer, I worked at a German Language Camp in the US and taught German to kids and adults. It was a great experience and so much fun. I learned a lot and was able to broaden my horizon even more. After coming to Canada in August, I worked at a restaurant on Vancouver Island for half a year and taught German. I left the island in early April to cross the country by car. It has been an amazing trip so far, which took me through BC and the Rockies, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, through parts of the US, and back to Canada (Ontario, Québec, PEI, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia). I met amazing people and made friendships that will last a lifetime. It was great to stay with locals along the way, which I either found on CS or through friends. The last province on my list is Newfoundland, which I’m super excited for. I can’t wait to get to know the island and people and their way of life! I’ve only heard positive things and am looking forward to the last part of my trip 😊

Unfortunately, my visa expires in late July and I will have to return to Germany. On the other hand, I’m very excited to finally be able to return the favor and start hosting Couchsurfers in my home. It’s a great way to keep traveling even though you’re not physically leaving the country.

There is so much more I could tell, but it's much better to explain in person, rather than just writing it down. I would love to share my stories and meet other couch surfers :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I lived in the US for a year and in Canada for half a year during my studies and just love to meet people from all over the world. I’m so grateful for the opportunity I got, because two families opened their home to a stranger, welcomed me, and let me become part of their families. We’re still in touch, after 10 years!
I like to travel but I know that it is sometimes hard to do on a low budget. Therefore, I think couchsurfing is a great way to still experience a lot and learn about other cultures and lifestyles. Since it goes both ways. you can profit from staying at peoples places but you can also open your home to others and give back some of the hospitality.
