Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The long-term relationship I had been in for the last three years came to an end while I was living in Portland, OR, so I hit the road.

I packed everything I own into my two door Honda and split with no place to go and no plan. I just had to escape the heartbreak and start over fresh somewhere else.

I want to re-establish my independence and I need a place to stay during that time.

I really think it took a lot of courage to just pack up and leave with no real idea what I'm doing or where I'm going. It is a truly terrifying sense of true freedom that few will have the opportunity to feel.
