About Me

Hmm, not easy to say everything about myself in this little box, but I'll give it a go!

I'm lucky enough to be in Australia on a working holiday and I'm planning on travelling the east coast later in 2017. Looking forward to meeting other backpackers, trying new things and having fun along the way. I'm up for doing a variety of things.

I generally try to be a compassionate, supportive and calm person. I'm not exactly an extrovert, but I am friendly, a good listener and easy going in nature. I really enjoy chatting over a cup of tea and getting to know people, as well as exploring in cities and natural environments.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love travelling and I am always trying to live life to the full. I also want to meet people with similar ambitions, so here we are!

It would be great to meet locals and other travellers, of different cultural backgrounds, too. Let's share conversations, ideas and have a good time. I'm an open minded, non-judgemental kind of person, and meeting a variety of people helps to keep me that way.

Interests

I've been playing the piano for 15 years. I love to do art, go to galleries and museums, doing yoga and meditation. I do Zumba, just for fun, and I enjoy talking about politics, society and sustainability when I'm feeling more serious! I'm interested in doing new things in new places too.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music. My Australia travel tune is Aftergold by Big Wild. Retro music, anything from the 1970s. And alternative, folky stuff.

Books - again really wide ranging. Fiction and non-fiction. Anything from deeply philosophical Buddhist books, to Orwell, to Bridget Jones.

I'm not a massive movie buff. I like a film that gives me a good laugh, but sometimes something deeper too, or one that stays with me. Also, Disney!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 3 months of my life living on Iona, a beautiful Scottish island. Swimming in the Scottish sea almost everyday was incredible!

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been a piano teacher before, and would love to continue teaching this if we have access to a piano! I'm also well up for being taught and sharing new experiences

What I Can Share with Hosts
