Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have Couchsurfed a few times while living in India. Each time was memorable and far more exciting than a typical hostel or hotel experience. I got to know the people I was staying with and learned about the cities and the culture through the people I lived with. It was like staying with a host family!

Interests

I really enjoy learning about anything. I'm particularly interested in history, traveling, food, religion, politics, music, art, and hiking.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a music nut-I love listening to all kinds! I also am a big reader. Some of my favorites are "The Color Purple" and "River of Fire." I enjoy watching movies with a purpose-something that leaves me thinking by the end of the film, but I'm also open to watching horrible cinema. They always give me a good laugh.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some of my most awestruck moments have come from visiting some religious sites throughout India-the Moinuddin Chishti shrine in Ajmer, Rajasthan, the Akshardham temple in New Delhi, the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab, etc. I've never witnessed such dedication and devotion by pilgrims before. It's truly a remarkable experience-it actually engulfs you. I felt as if I was a part of their special moment.
