About Me

My name is Brittany! I am 24 years old and am passionate about simple living, minimalism and travel.

I am an avid reader and learner, simplicity seeker, writer, dreamer, wanderluster, traveler, introvert (INFJ), minimalist, healthy eater, organizer, over-planner, and experience collector.

I have no idea what I want to do with my life and am attempting to live a life that is aligned with my values, skills, passions and purpose.

I prefer to spend my time and money on experiences and memories instead of buying more possessions.

I enjoy spending my time reading, learning, writing, playing board and card games with friends and family, cooking and baking, researching and planning my future adventures, organizing and decluttering my belongings, gardening and visiting the local farmer's market.

I find joy in life's simple pleasures and moments and I value spending my time and money on life experiences and memories. I strive to live intentionally, mindfully, purposefully, adventurously and passionately.

Do what makes you happy and invest your time and money in experiences. The most important things in life are your relationships with family & friends, your experiences and memories, passions, personal growth and contribution. Focus on the important things in life, the things that truly matter. Happiness is a choice. If you aren't happy with something in your life, make a choice to change it. If you can't change it, then either learn to accept it or change the way you think about it. Design your life to focus on your passions and interests and what you love to do. Life is shorter than you think, so don't waste time making excuses for your dreams and saving them to pursue "someday." Come up with a plan and work towards. There is no better time like the present. If you want something badly enough, you will find a way to make it happen. Nobody is truly busy... We will always make time for what is important to us. It's all about choosing what your priorities truly are and decluttering your other (unnecessary) commitments.

To experience life to its fullest and live mindfully and in the moment, each and every day. To embrace a healthy and minimalist lifestyle and focusing on living simply, and investing in experiences, personal growth/discovery, relationships, memories, and travel. To appreciate every moment of life as a gift, to learn from the good and bad experiences, to share my knowledge and experiences in order to help others, to contribute meaningfully to others' lives, and to never stop learning about my passions and exploring the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing that I have done, is traveling solo to Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. As someone who is more on the introverted side and who often experiences anxiety about the future and the unknown, traveling solo in Mexico was a huge step outside of my comfort zone. I wasn't sure whether or not I would enjoy this style of travel (as my prior experience consisted of traveling with family to all-inclusive resorts), but I ended up loving it! I met some amazing people and made some wonderful new friends, who I really enjoyed traveling with and learning about their stories. I experienced some incredible natural and ancient beauty as well - swimming in countless cenotes (fresh water pools and river systems located in caverns and at ground level), all of which were stunningly beautiful and unique; exploring, climbing and learning about the ancient ruins of the Maya civilization (including Chichen Itza, Coba, Ek Balam and Tulum); and discovering hidden gems while wandering the streets of colourful colonial cities and towns. I stayed in hostel dorms for my first time ever, used various forms of the local public transportation (colectivos, buses, bicycle taxis), ate at places that were popular with the locals and more. It was the most amazing experience and I learned so much about myself, about the Mexican culture, the Spanish language and about other people.

Another amazing thing I've done, is travel with my mom to San Francisco, California. We stayed at an Airbnb apartment rental for the first time, walked along the Golden Gate Bridge, toured and explored Alcatraz prison and island, rode the historic cable cars, wandered through the neighbourhoods of the Mission District, Haight-Ashbury, The Castro and Pacific Heights, and more. I loved every minute of it and had an incredible time with my mom!
