ABOUT ME

My name is Kyle McFarland. I was born and raised in Washington state.

I was accepted into University of Washington after my first 2 years at community college. After 2 and a half years of study, research projects, and 6 months worked at Intel, I finally received my Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. It was a good day, one I will not forget.

After the non stop schooling since I was 5 years old, I found myself stumbling into a new world I did not understand. One with responsibilities and commitments. I was not ready to snuggle into a nice easy job, and instead I found a simple contractor position for 1 year and Microsoft.

Lately, I've found myself interested in traveling the world and experience things outside of this little engineering box I have been living. I have been saving money and once my contract is up I get to see where my path will take me. Maybe more school, maybe travel, or maybe something completely different like taking art up again.

I am interested in helping others that want to travel the world, but not deal with the burden of huge expenses.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, I have had a limited experience with couch surfing, but I am really interested and intrigued by the possibilities.

Intereses

Well I enjoy many things in life.

I like watching interesting movies. I am a sucker for a good sci-fi.

Hanging out with my friends is always something I am game to do. I frequent bars, clubs, jazz shows, and music venues. I think getting out and having fun is very important.

Road tripps Road trippps I can't get enough. On one of my more recent road trips I drove to California with my cousin to check out San Fransisco and rock climb. Yep I was into rock climbing over the summer. In Cali I fell and tore a ligament, putting me 6 months out of activities.

I hate the misconception people develop about different cultures. I believe people can be very caring and genuine no matter where they are from.
