ABOUT ME

I have a hard time passing up opportunities to see live music, travel, get outside and meet new people... Originally from the Midwest, fell in love with west coast ideology and called northern California home for a long time. I'm currently living in Maine and will be moving to Minnesota in September. I'm planning on doing some international traveling soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have allowed countless numbers of friends (and some couch surfers now) to crash at my place over the years... I enjoy living situations that were much like living in a hostel and loved it!

兴趣

I have been told that catch and release fishing is perverted, but I can't kick the habit. I was a fly fishing guide in Alaska and used to teach fly fishing at the local University. It's in my blood, my dad took out fishing for the first time when I was about knee high on him. I have been hooked ever since. I used to snowboard and ski all the time. I have lived on the coast for about 8 years and have gotten away from it... I'm looking forward to starting up again! I hiked the lost coast about a month ago - it was awesome! I really enjoy going on long hikes. The lost coast and the grand canyon trip are among some of my most memorable experiences.

I have become a live music addict over the last couple of years. I volunteer at Kate Wolf and Earth Dance music festivals every year. I enjoy a lot of different types of music, but I noticed the other day that my CD cases are filled with mostly Bluegrass... Hmmm... I guess I really like Bluegrass. Some of my favorites are: Bela Fleck, The Devil Makes Three, Old Crow, Doc Watson... but, there are so many good ones. I also try to get down to San Fran every year for Hardly Strictly.
I like reading books too... I have a stack of about five books that I'm trying to get through right now.

I recently finished two terms as an AmeriCorps volunteer, for a community based restoration program working to educate the public on Fisheries related issues and to help restore salmon runs in northern California. I currently work for the Whiskeytown Outdoor School as a Naturalist/Environmental Educator.
