About Me

I am a pretty tall guy and hope to get out and meet people and travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I first discovered couchsurfing I thought wow, this is how the world should be. Good people helping other good people. In my experience using the site tho, I have ran into almost nothing but inconsiderate people with cold hearts. People listed as "accepting guests" who judge you and deny you and then continue to have their profile listed as accepting guests to rub it in more. Their profiles go on and on about how welcome their home is and how they enjoy sharing stories. These are the same people I would welcome into my home with open arms and know that they'd request to stay with me yet they cant do the same in return. People should really take a look at themselves. I am normally a very positive, good moraled person but this site has opened my emotions some. I have had one host so far in St Louis and she was amazing and had a great place and we got along well and I washed multiple big loads of her dirty dishes and her free spirit and welcoming home made me want to stay multiple nights. I wish all hosts could be as great as her. Unfortunately I have received about 25 denials now to that one acceptance. I couldn't imagine paying a $20 fee to be treated in the same way African Americans were treated for so long in our country. I'll mostly stick to airbnb where you get treated like family if you pay $20-30. Or sleeping in my car. It's sad. Couchsurfing has so much potential. It just needs people to remember how to be good again. ....Traveling across America and hopefully the world next. I enjoy meeting new people and being hosted in their home or even just using the shower and hearing about their experiences and life. We only get one life. Lets be good to each other and share the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Stood lookout on the tower of an aircraft carrier ship and witnessed a water spout form out of the water and clouds. The spout followed our ship in a straight line for an hour, close behind us. It was like being in a movie.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am 6'8", something you don't see every day. I have my share of life experiences to tell about and would love to hear yours. I like to wash dishes or do other help around house or outside errands for people kind enough to allow me into their home.
