CURRENT MISSION

So THE answer, we have been told, is 42. I am singly engaged in figuring out just how irreverent and vital that answer is. Mirrors are phenomenally rhetorical tools for self elucidation. The self longs to discover its edges, seams, cracks, borders, etc.

ABOUT ME

I am a story teller. I think that oral history has taken a back burner/backyard fire pit position in modern society. This is something I hope to work on during my stay here. I believe in telling stories; as a form of personal history, social memory, pedagogy, or pure entertainment. I talk, and talk, and talk. However, an aspect of story telling that is often forgotten is the listening aspect. Where else would our stories come from? I endeavor to continually better my story telling techniques and repertoire. Incidentally, you may ask, why are you writing about this here. PHILOSOPHY

I want to underline or capitalize or in some way illustrate my utter devotion to this idea: Life is the journey.
The only value I need comes from what I receive from life and how much value I pump into living it and sharing it with others.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I thoroughly believe that shared space is happier space. To this point, and into the foreseeable future, my commitment and participation in CS2 will be cerebral, verbal, and promotional. I have been aware of the project for several years now and repeatedly find myself describing the idea to the unfamiliar. I am wholeheartedly committed to resource sharing and long before joining I practiced on my own. I must admit that I am more often on the couch than providing, but turnabout is inevitable.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My relationship to couchsurfing has been mostly rhetorical. I support the project and expound without end on the benefits of travel by couch to the uninitiated or the doubtful. Since discovering the project I have not owned my own couch and have therefore been unable to host strangers. I have hosted friends from my past at my various shipboard jobs when possible. As soon as I have a living room in which to place a couch the door will be opened.

兴趣

I am interested in boats, sailing, and salt water. I am also interested in books, stories, and story-telling. I am also interested in people, friends, and strangers. It is difficult to say which I am interested in the most. I am interested in discovering how many times I can write interesting into this box asking us what we are interested in. If it involves any of those things (or a myriad of other things I have mentioned an interest in) than I am game.

音乐、电影和书籍

I enjoy almost any kind of music. I am incredibly hooked on banjo and fiddle music at the moment. I love a jazz club or a summer metal festival all the same.

Give me a book, tell me why I should read it and I will try. There are more good books worth reading than days of life in my predictable future. I love science fiction and philosophy. I love pulp fiction novels and historical maritime literature. A good book is a lover that should be shared with many.

I like movies, but I prefer the other categories discussed in this box.
