Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It all started in Latvia, in 2008, referenced by a Finnish guy who referred me to the website in a bar late night in Riga. Then came a handful of gatherings, parties, meetings, trips and hitchhiking... Wow! I have so many things to thank the CS community for!

Many 1st-time experiences: my first camp in Lithuania, my first surfing in Sweden, my first HitchHiking in Vilnius.... A truly life-changing process has started when I was still 16 thanks to this website.

When I moved back to Brazil I hosted some CSers while I was in Curitiba, and not long after went back to Europe backpacking and hitchhiking through the whole continent for about three months on a €10/day basis. Unfortunately not all nights I got hosted, having to sleep some of them with the local bum society, but many time if I had a bed to sleep was because I could rely on the CS community. A bit of a nomadic experience (during which I was facing the worst European winter in ages) but which taught me a lot about generosity.

Fast forward to 2018 and I am now living in Berlin, willing to pay forward all the love I got during the last 10 years from CouchSurfing :)
