ABOUT ME

We are a Canadian couple, recently returned from almost two years of work and travel overseas. It was fantastic! We're now looking for our own place in Toronto, and when we find it we'll be hosting. :) We are generally low key people who enjoy chill bars and pubs over clubs - calm "no drama" people. PHILOSOPHY

Do not complain because roses have thorns, but rejoice that thorns have roses (aka look on the bright side of life). And> Everything happens for a reason. And> If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours. (from the back of an Adelaide metro ticket!!!)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We surfed in Australia, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Poland, and the Czech Republic - all amazing experiences! We have a lot of 'paying it forward' to do, and look forward to hosting when we have our own place in Toronto. Hopefully soon!

Brooke: cats, baking, chocolate, snowboarding, flash mobs, fireworks, outdoors, camping, yoga, board games (especially word games like Boggle, Scrabble, Scattergories - kind of nerdy I know).
Nick: hockey, baseball and other sports in general (interested in learning about other countries' sports too!) I also like music, movies and the outdoors. I dislike snakes.

We will read pretty much whatever we can find in hostels.

Most recently - the Trans-Mongolian train from Beijing to Moscow :)

Swam with whale sharks on the Ningaloo Reef, climbed the Great Wall, hand fed a monarch butterfly. Adventured and skied the mountains of Banff, Alberta, traveled all over Scotland... didn't see Nessy.

We want to learn about your culture and city, the things you can't read in a guide book.

We'd like to share good conversation and a laugh. We've also accumulated a pretty solid collection of movies and tv shows on our hard drive that we like to pass on!
