CURRENT MISSION

I just moved to NY to experience all of the opportunities the city has to offer. Currently looking for places to crash while I secure a job and wait out an apartment opening in July 2013.

ABOUT ME

I'm a creative type in my late 20's, moving to New York after three years in Philadelphia. I'm hoping to pursue opportunities for jobs, friends, and fun. I didn't initially like the city, but have fallen in love with it over the last year and I can't wait to make it my home.

I'm a very open-minded, low-maintenance person with pretty simple needs. Vegan? Cool with me, even though I'm not. Have kids? Alright, awesome...let's watch cartoons! Pets? I do well with animals and have no allergies.

PHILOSOPHY

My brother recently called me a "seeker", and I think he's right about that. I strive to find the truth and beauty in live, and live every day to the fullest. I'm adventurous, tenacious, smart, and resourceful...and I like to put those skills to use whenever I can. Life is too short to not try to find the thing that makes you feel alive.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm looking to find couches to surf while I secure employment and housing in the NYC area. I'm happy to help out around the house - cooking, cleaning, child care, pet sitting, whatever I can do to contribute.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent about a month and a half couchsurfing when I moved to Philadelphia in 2010 before I found a job and housing. While I ended up in the suburbs, it gave me the opportunity to become well-acquainted with public transit and the area.

I'm really into sci-fi and fantasy. Right now, I love anything 'Game of Thrones' related and I'm a huge fan of the 'Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' series. I've also been reading a lot of Kerouac, Ginsberg, and Neil Gaiman. I love film, with no particular genre as a stand-out. Musically, my tastes are all over the place: punk, progressive hip hop, dubstep, indie, 90's rock, modern rock and alternative.

One of the most amazing experiences of my life was a more or less spur-of-the-moment roadtrip to New Orleans last fall. Twenty-four hours in the car either way and four days spent in one of the most amazing cities I've ever visited. I don't think I'll ever forget sitting in a bar full of locals, hidden just off of Bourbon Street, listening to zydeco covers of Nine Inch Nails songs with one of the most incredible people I've ever met. It was...perfection.
