About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Minimizing my footprint on Mother Earth/PachaMama

ABOUT ME

I'm curious by nature. I like to wander, explore new places, learn about different cultures, and meet interesting and conscious people. I believe that we all have a responsibility to the Earth that sustains us, and to each other.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I grew up in NYC, and I'm happy to meet people visiting my town and and show them around.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed with friends of friends in a few places. My experiences have been positive, giving me opportunities to more fully and meaningfully experience the places I was visiting. Most recently, I stayed with a couch surfing host in Hong Kong. She's a generous, kind, and wonderful human being.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Everything from rock to Bangla folk music to hiphop. Literature: I've recently been addicted to the words of Nayyirah Waheed, a poet. Other favorite authors: Jeanette Winterson (The Passion, Written on the Body) - she's a sorceress. I also love Rohinton Mystry (A Fine Balance), Gabriel Garcia Marquez (One Hundred Years of Solititude), and Khalil Gibran (The Prophet). Movies: Wong Kar Wai is magical; Satyajit Rai; Miyazaki

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm fortunate to have experienced and seen many amazing things. One recent beautiful experience was sailing on Lago Titicaca in Bolivia, snow-capped Andes mountains in the distance.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I know basic carpentry, how to build a simple rain harvesting system, and how to grow food. I've also been working with honey bees, and can share what I know. Learn: Right now, I'd love to learn more about bees, plants, and soil. I'm also very interested in how cities can be designed in ways that are more in tune with nature well as the needs of women.

What I Can Share with Hosts
