About Me

CURRENT MISSION

help people to share rides

ABOUT ME

I'm working on CocoRide.com.au - Ridesharing for Active People. CocoRide helps link up people who want to go to fun runs, cycling events, triathlons, ski races or who just want to get some nature time. Rather than driving there by themselves, CocoRiders can share a ride together and meet new people, save money and reduce their environmental impact. I'm using CocoRide as a case study for my PhD project: "Gamifying ridesharing: can game elements increase participation in ridesharing schemes?"

CocoRide is a bit of a selfish pursuit because I love the outdoors but I don't drive:P My motivation is to find active other people to share a ride. I love almost anything outdoors: cycling, running, cross country skiing, you name it. It just makes me feel alive getting out there, raising my heart rate and seeing nature first hand.

I enjoy colourful debates, and meaningful conversations. The topic doesn't matter, I'm interested in pretty much everything!

The travel bug has well and truly bitten me. I've been to Europe twice already, and intend on hitting the road as often as I can (after purchasing carbon credits of course!) before anything serious ties me down.

I believe in immersing myself in the culture of a country and not just looking at it from the window of a tour bus. I love learning languages and wouldn't dream of visiting a place without having at least a few phrases up my sleeve.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in equity for people of all creeds and colours and that animals deserve our respect. I've been a vegan for the last three years, and although I'm not ardent in my views, if you get me started, it's hard to stop me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd like to host people once I have my own place. Right now, I still live at home, and my parents aren't too keen on taking people in, but rest assured that will change once I move out! As well as that, I'm spreading the word, because I think it's a fantastic concept.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed once before in Paris. It was an interesting experience with quite a few colourful conversations. I'm looking forward to moving out into my own place so I can host people myself;)
