About Me

35 year old Canadian who decided to live a year in Tokyo after university. 1 year has turned into 8! I'm friendly and open-minded and do my very best to treat people the way I want to be treated. Respect is key.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Best way to travel is to meet the local people. Guide books are useful for certain things but it's nice to have someone living there to show you around, introduce you to new friends or just offer some good tips on the local area, like a good restaurant, park or record store.

Interests

Japanese, music - dj'ing and most recently I'm learning how to make beats with ableton, collecting records, yoga, jogging, cooking, camping and hiking

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I rode my bicycle from Tokyo to Kyoto.

Teach, Learn, Share

I make good sandwiches, pastas, salads and Chinese-style stir-frys - but there needs to be a decent Asian grocery store nearby and you need to have a gas stove that can really heat up a pan well. Since I've been living in Japan for 8 years of course I can cook Japanese and am happy to share with you the insight on Japanese culture that I've picked up over the years. Could also teach you a nice 15 minute yoga session to start your days. Also if you are interested in DJ'ing I'd be more than happy to share a few tricks with you.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, France, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Taiwan, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam
