Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've done a little, but have always been with friends, and never made my own profile.

Most memorable was the time I spent hitchhiking to Prague, and the people I met on that adventure.

Interests

I like photography, sailing, writing, bike riding, hiking, reading, coffee, tea and alcohol drinking, and listening to music every waking hour.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once saw the horizon at sunset, an open expanse of ocean, stretching from deep black in the east, shadowed under dark thunderheads, passing through shades of purple and blue to reflect the pink and golden hues of the sky in the west, shimmering off the waves. Whales spouted and let their flukes dip into the air before diving down into the sea, and the mist they exhaled shimmered in the dying daylight. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can monologue for hours about John Milton and Thomas Pynchon. Interested in a historical analysis of the influences of the German Sturm und Drang on the British Romantic period? I got this.

Want to know about almost-forgotten deities from obscure pre-Incan cultures? I know of a couple.

Wilderness survival? Scuba diving? I've got some stories to share.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, China, France, Ghana, Greece, India, Japan, Mauritius, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
