CURRENT MISSION

working on my PhD at UBC in Vancouver and trying to find as much time to travel while I do so.

ABOUT ME

I am a student of archaeology from British Columbia, Canada. I completed my Masters degree at the University of Toronto and am currently working on my PhD at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. I study west coast Canadian archaeology, but am fascinated by all of the world's history, and in particular the history and politics of the Middle East and Central Asia.

I spent a year traveling in 2008-2009; I went from Istanbul to Beijing via Central Asia, and spent five months after that traveling the Middle East. In 2011 and 2012 I traveled from Turkey to Iran via Iraq, and then poked around the Caucasus regions... I hope to spend more time in these places and learn more about them.

I also enjoy hiking and camping in the outdoors, fishing, mountain biking, loud music, and wandering around and getting lost.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have crashed on a few couches in Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan, and met up with locals and travelers in other countries that I have visited. CS seems like a brilliant idea!
