Live in a new country (on a new continent), do a lot of self exploration and hopefully find a choir to sing with along the way!!!

ABOUT ME

I am currently in Berlin, Germany! I have been here for almost 3 months. I have a working/holiday visa. It is through a program that is similar to an exchange....so me coming here allows a young german the chance to go live and work in Canada!! Pretty cool:)
I am passionate about many things and generally enjoy the company of open minded, non-judgemental, friendly people!!
I love good food and a few drinks to accompany it, and most of all good company to enjoy it all with. I am excited to be living in Germany for the next 8 months and learning more about German culture and language!!

PHILOSOPHY

Right now I am at a transition point in life. Not exactly sure where I want to end up, I am using my travels as a way to experience new things and keep an open mind about the direction that my life is going to head in the next few years. Basically I'm running away from the "grown-up" decisions that I don't want to make and I will worry about them when I return home.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am brand new to the couch surfing community, I have not yet had the pleasure of hosting or surfing. I am excited to become involved in the process hoping to try out my first surf in Copenhagen in late October 2010.
update! Didn't get the chance to surf in Copenhagen, unfortunately all we contacted were unable to host that week. Hopefully now that I am in Berlin I will get to meet up with a few people as I don't know many here. I am hoping to attend some CS gatherings to make new friends!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As above, I'm brand new and have zero experience. I am hoping to start out soon!
I will be travelling to Europe for 8 months (Oct 2010-June2011) Spending most of my time in Germany with a working holiday visa, but plan to travel around Europe during my time over there, so hopefully couchsurfing will be an option for some of my time.

Music: I have an absolute love and passion for choral music!! I mostly perform this type of music but I love to listen to it every now and again also.
My iPod is full of a little bit of everything: Musicals (avenue q, wicked, little shop of horrors, spring awakening, RENT - just to name a few favourites), Jazz, Folk, Pop, Reggae
Movies: I'm definitely a sucker for romantic comedies, but I also like "dumb comedies" like I Love You Man, almost anything with Will Ferrell or Adam Sandler, that type of thing.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

So far the most amazing thing I've done in my life is this move to Germany, thousands of miles away from friends and family, by myself!!
Even though I've only been on my own for a week, it has already had many challenges and many rewards!
I've already learned some things about myself, and I know I will learn much more over the next 8 months!!

I definitely want to learn more languages! Even if I can only learn a little bit. I hate being mono-lingual. I can't wait to live in Germany and become more fluent in German.

Knowledge that I might be able to share: I can help people who are trying to learn English. I do read music well and have a fairly good understanding of music theory and other practical skills, so if someone is looking for basic piano or vocal instruction I can do my best to pass on what I know!
