ABOUT ME

I'm an outdoorsy type and I particularly enjoy wild swimming in rivers, hot pools lakes and the sea. I see myself as quite adventurous and love spontanious nights out, but also very happy to chill in good company. I appreciate good food and a cold Waikato Draught, and if you let me loose in the kitchen you won't regret it as I fancy my hand at baking (I make a mean pie).

PHILOSOPHY

Work to live, don't live to work. Many hands make light work.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to meet as people as possible! Come and stay, let me show you the beautiful Weald where I am born and bred! I am also on HelpX and find it a really good way to see the country and emerse myself in the culture as well as getting to know like-minded people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to couch surfing but have done HelpXing which is basically the same thing. Working on a horse stud, hay bailing, tack cleaning, horse handling as well as making myself useful around the house cleaning and helping with cooking.

Centres d'intérêt

Cycling (leisure not hardcore fitness!), baking, horse riding, wild swimming. I also love reading and I'm studying literature in September so trying to rattle through some classics before then!
I like seeing live bands but don't do it enough to tell you the truth, huddling round a campfire with a radio, some beers, a few friends and pork sausages is always sweet too.

Films:
The Big Lebowski, Hot Fuzz, Withnail and I, Pineapple Express, all the Rocky movies, The Boat That Rocked, The Shining, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Music: I don't think there's a genre I dislike really. Some of my favourite artists include Man Like Me, The Doors, T-Rex, Major Lazer, Ben Howard, Willy Mason, Pink Floyd, The Stranglers, Craig David, Alt-J, Moby, Fat Freddy's Drop and Bonobo.

Books:
Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates, Brave New World by Huxley, Wuthering Heights by Brontè, anything by Anita Shreve, and my absolute favorite is The Picture of Dorian Grey but Oscar Wilde.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Living in rugged bush of Great Barrier for 2 months was pretty cool- collecting my own mussels for dinner and tramping tracks to waterfalls like Awena, goodtimes!

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Skills I can teach:
Bread making/ general baking and cooking,
Driving (I have a full drivers lisence and I'm patient),
Horse riding, use of sewing machines, I'm also very articulate so if you feel a little rusty with your English I would be happy to help you practice and learn more.
Things I'd like to learn:
Fishing, bush skills like how to skin and prepare rabbit, building skills (I have basic knowledge), how to grow a veg plot... prettymuch open to any skills!
