About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel the world, meet new people, overcome my prejudices and stereotypes, and find out who I am.

ABOUT ME

I am a high school student. In the Summer of 2008 I will travel outside of the U.S. for the first time. I am going to Europe, alone, and I am both excited and nervous. I am a pacifist. When meeting someone for the first time, I will be shy, but I warm up quickly. I want to go to Europe to meet people of all different cultures. I have grown up in the same small town my whole life, so the majority of people I know are all white, christian, middle class Americans. I often don't feel at home in America, and I hope to travel somewhere where the society will reflect more of my values. I guess this means that my trip to Europe will not only be to find myself, but maybe to find where I belong.

PHILOSOPHY

Love is the most important thing on Earth, be it between a married couple, a group of friends, Mother to Daughter, Father to Son, or any two people with any connection. You can love someone you have never met, you can love your enemies. Love will never harm you or anyone else, it can only help.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a new member. As my home is in a small, semi-remote town in California, I doubt that I will be able to contribute much as a Host. Instead, I resolve to bring as much love and kindness ad I can to anyone kind enough to give me a place to sleep, or even someone willing to share a few hours of their day to make me feel more comfortable in a strange city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never couch surfed, but I look forward to it.

Interests

Music and Art, I am not talented in either aspect, but I appreciate anyone who is, and am awed by their work. I try to keep updated in world affairs. I love to read.

Teach, Learn, Share

The best way to eat a bagel is not toasted, with cream cheese, like a sandwich.
