关于我
CURRENT MISSION
I am on a mission to combat the inequities that prevent low income students in my country from receiving the same Topportunities as their high income peers.
ABOUT ME
I have recently completed my fourth year as a public school music educator in various urban and rural locations around the United States. I see a lot of American public education rooted in ideas Eurocentrism and white privilege, and my work as a teacher has largely been an effort to undermine this arcane curriculum. Namely, my work centers around providing my students a culturally diverse knowledge of music and providing them a holistic music education that does not simply perpetuate discrepancies in learning among students of different socioeconomic backgrounds but rather enables all students to learn music equitably.
PHILOSOPHY
May I be happy, safe, healthy and free.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am currently traveling to Europe and when I return I am eager to host CSs at my beach house in Jacksonville Florida.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
To be honest, I didn't have a lot of success when I was abroad in 2009. But now that I am older and more knowledgeable about social interactions, traveling with plans, and just in general, I hope to find more success on Couchsurfing.
兴趣
I play saxophone and love listening to jazz, R&B and soul music whenever I am not in class. Some of my favorite musicians are: Stevie Wonder, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Common, D'angelo. But my interests in music, and anything for that matter, are not exclusive and I can get hip to whatever music is put in front of me as long as the musicianship is on point.
I love literature, mainly beat literature. The way that Jack Kerouac expresses his passion for life is truly inspiring and Tom Robbins' imagery is freaking unreal. Lately, I read the autobiography of Malcolm X and in it he discussed the fact that he read one work of fiction in his whole life and the rest non fiction. I've turned that into a personal literature-philosophy for myself, and lately have voraciously absorbed texts on multicultural education I've used in my classroom and in my studies as well as read many biographies so that I am always inspired to live with more intention.
Surrealism is pretty baller too.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情
This summer has been all about rediscovering my Roots and I've felt humbled and cherish each moment of my journey. I think a great memory I've had of this summer so far was running into my brother, who was in the same country as me without a phone or email, on the top of a mountain right before the sun was about to rise and being able to watch the sunrise with him.

Your veins take blood back to the heart. Usually, there isnt much blood pressure left after the blood has traveled through your arteries and capillaries, so when the blood is in your veins it is moving very slowly. In addition, veins usually travel against gravity, which exacerbates the problem even further.
To compensate for this problem, veins expand, thus letting more blood up through the cavity.
COOL PART: when you eliminate the gravity, however, your veins get smaller, as less space is needed to reach the necessary pressure.
So...
if you see your veins getting really big and protruding out of your wrists, pick your hand up above your head and watch them disappear!!!
