About Me

ABOUT ME

I am a 26 year old from Victoria, Australia. I studied at Deakin University near Melbourne and graduated in 2015. I'm fascinated by language and I am interested in ecology and conservation. I'm a pretty quiet person and very considerate. I love walking, riding my bike and hiking. I'm currently traveling with my boyfriend Mitch, also in his 20s. He loves plants and gardening, and can grow just about anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I believe you can have a truly enriching and exciting experience travelling through couchsurfing - more so than through any hostel or hotel. I love meeting new people, learning about their culture and way of life and reinvigorating a sense of trust in the world by treating everyone with respect.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Four big roadtrips in the USA and Canada have led us to meet numerous wonderful people all over the nation! When we first arrived in the USA last February, we stayed with people in Colorado, California, and Oregon. Since then we've stayed with people on adventures to Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, Vancouver Island and down South on our way through the desert to Florida and then north to Connecticut.
We have met some amazing people who we are lucky enough to now call friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked to the top of Yosemite Falls at Yosemite NP, California.
I did the giant canyon swing over the Shotover River in Queenstown, New Zealand.
I completed the Spring Tough Mudder course at Phillip Island with my best friend.

Recently I was the rally coordinator for the biggest climate march in the world in 2015 - the Melbourne People's Climate March. That was an achievement!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a massive plant and animal nerd so can teach things about ecology, botany and wildlife. I also know about environment in general and can have lengthy ethical conversations about sustainability (but I can also leave those conversations at the door if they are unwanted).

I can play the cup song. I can draw! I will draw you something and then teach you how to do it too.

Puhun vahan Suomea ( I speak a little Finnish)
Spreche ein bisschein Deutsch (I speak a little German)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share amusing travel stories, interesting language facts and knitting skills. Mitch can share his knack for gardening.
