ABOUT ME
grew up in kansas, became interested in china. so i started learning chinese and got a scholarship to study at hong kong. graduated with a BA in philosophy and got a scholarship to study at Nanjing China for a year. I want to study US-China relations and get an MA in that field and then use my knowledge in some way to earn a living. but like everyone else on this site, i enjoy traveling and seeing new places to broaden my scope of this world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
i played drums for hong kong university's 'battle of the bands' with an austrian on guitar and a local hong konger on bass. we played on the roof of a building in central hong kong and attracted a decent sized crowd of students.

i can play drums and am learning chinese calligraphy. my chinese skills are getting better and better, but i'm by no means fluent yet.
