À propos de moi

Hello, fellow travelers! I'm Burak, and if you’re looking for a low-key, predictable host, you might want to keep scrolling.
I’m originally from Turkey, but my current address is Mestre Venice, where I am attempting to juggle a full-time job as a Product Manager with the chaos of pursuing a Master’s degree. Yes, I know I'm slightly past the 'standard' age for a Master's student. Let’s just say I prefer to do things fashionably late—like a true Mediterranean. Life should be an adventure, not a checklist!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I am an early bird because. of my job :( I'm usually up before the sun to tackle my PM duties. This means my mornings are dedicated to my laptop and coffee (lots of it). If you hear me muttering about "sprints" and "deliverables" before 9 AM, just smile and hand me a croissant.

When the work is done, the books open. I'm a student of Data and love a good academic debate (or just someone to test my Italian on).

This year, I am on a mission to finally explore Europe! Starting with Italy and branching out as far as my student budget allows.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Movies: Harry Potter and Lord Of the Rings are my favourite. After that I am particularly interested in independent European cinema and cult sci-fi films about time travel. I truly enjoy having philosophical discussions that last until morning after a great movie.

Books: Travelogues and existential philosophical works are always on my bedside table. I’m ready to talk about the underlined sentences in the books I read on the road and exchange recommendations for new authors."

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

My brain is clearly coded for single-tasking, yet I am stubbornly the kind of person who tries to do everything all at once. I'm a student, a teacher, and a traveler rolled into one!

My amazing feat? Successfully forcing my 'single-core' processor to constantly run five mental tabs simultaneously, handle all my roles, studies, and travels... and somehow keep moving forward. It’s an ongoing, spectacular, and slightly terrifying experiment in self-overload. Let's just hope the system doesn't crash during your visit!"

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

The fact that I am simultaneously a student and a teacher turns my life into a constant cycle of discovery and transfer.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

I'd be delighted to host you in Venice/Mestre! This is more than just a place to sleep; it’s an invitation to an authentic experience and warm conversation.

Accommodation and Shared Spaces:

Private Single Room: You will have a peaceful and quiet private room, completely your own.

Shared Living Spaces: The kitchen, bathroom, and living room are shared. Please make yourself completely at home!

Venice & Mestre Exploration: I would love to show you the hidden corners and best local cafés where locals hang out, far from the tourist crowds. Whether we get lost in the narrow streets of Venice or experience real Italian life in Mestre, the choice is yours.

Shared Experiences:

Let's Cook and Eat Together: Cooking is a big passion of mine. Besides Italian delicacies, if you're interested, I can teach you how to prepare traditional Turkish food (like mantı, a Turkish breakfast, or a rich dinner). Let the food on our plate be the starting point of our conversation!"
