About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Shirking working, living to live, not just waiting to die.

ABOUT ME

Reached 22 years of age, had mid-life crisis, bought a bike and resolved to see everything there is to see and do everything there is to do, determined to regret nothing, and try anything once.

PHILOSOPHY

'Why do I live my life?/Feelings/Thoughts?'

Blimey, that is rather a large question for a little box. Is it possible to so succinctly sum up the meaning of life?

Er...I live my life becuase it is the only thing I was born knowing how to do. I feel uncomfortable about the daily creeping intimations of my own mortality, so I'm just going to distract myself with worldly pleasures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No formal experience, though several trips made on a whim. Turn up at the airport, buy the cheapest ticket to somewhere, then hobo around until some kind soul takes pity on you. Last time this ended in a semi-forced engagement in Morocco.

Interests

Travel (without wanting to teach egg sucking!)

Music, Movies, and Books

Long list of books, I read far too much, books are like real life, but better. Favourites include:

Coin Locker Babies by Ryu Murakami,
I Lucifer by Glenn Duncan,
The Tin Drum by Gunther Grass,
Journey to the Centre of the Earth, Jules Verne,

Kerouac, before he started doing that wanky-self-congratulatory-pretentious 'spontaneous prose' thingamy
All of Bukowski's poetry, most of his prose.

Music;
Godspeed You Black Emperor, Sigur Ros, Meatloaf, Bruce Springstein, Enter Shikari, Atreyu, Hendrix, The Doors and Bullet for my Valentine.

Movie - The Wild One.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Meteor showers in clear desert skies.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't have a huge number of marketable skills, but I am more than happy to teach English or Arabic speaking/reading/writing.

I want to learn more French and one day learn Spanish.
