我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because it is an inexpensive way to travel and it allows me to connect with locals by listen to their stories, stressors, risks and passions. I am then better prepared to understand the culture and help empower the individuals and engage the communities! I would have never met these individuals if it was not for them opening their home, giving me a ride, or attending an event with me.

兴趣

Volunteering, Intellectual talks and conferences, Hiking, Backpacking, Kayaking, Climbing, Caving, What ever is exciting, and allows me to connect with nature and the local population. Good Food, Good Wine, and Good Company.

But My favorite book is 'Beyond Shelter Architecture and Human Dignity'... I listen to all music and prefer to listen to music related to the region i am traveling in.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

The list is long, and grand, life is about living! I hiked 2 1/2 months of the Appalachian Trail, alone south board in 2015 from Mt Katahdin to Lincoln Notch, with plenty of amazing side trips ;-) I volunteered for the Resilience AmeriCorps VISTA Pilot program in the City of Norfolk City managers office or Resilience working on impact volunteer initiatives in vulnerable populations. I deployed to Puerto Rico a year after Hurricane Maria. Recently, I spent 3 months on Fort Pickett Virginia, working on the Afghan Resettlement Operation Allies Welcome, Taskforce Safeheaven. But these are just a broad overview!

My visit is not about having a place to stay as I always travel with a tent/hammock, so I always have a home... my stay with you is more about listening to a piece of your story even if its just 15 mins of your time. I will tell you I positively effect all the lives I touch and hope you open your home to me ;-)
