About Me
CURRENT MISSION
SEPTEMBER 2024: PLEASED NOTE: I HAVE SUSPENDED HOSTING CS GUESTS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THIS YEAR.
My current mission? I don't think I have a 'current mission'!
ABOUT ME
retired college professor happy to share house for short visits. I could cite the usual boiler plate but it all starts to sound rehearsed and trivial but, yes, love the outdoors, furry creatures, am friendly, etc., a bit left of Lenin in my youth but now more moderate. Am signing on to this site as good friends in Brisbane have had interesting visitors, some while I was there and first learned about couch surfing. I'm not looking for a friend, date, drinking buddy etc. but do enjoy meeting people from elsewhere and hearing their stories.
Also: please see my 'additional information' re criteria for guests.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
How do I participate? Well, I'm happy to host others, enjoy meeting people from other lands, happy to share experiences and travel stories, serve as a guide to what's good and what's not so good in this area.
Hosting
[Please see 'Additional Information' in my profile]
As a host, all quite positive. Have not yet been a guest. Note for potential guests interested in being hosted: please be verified by CS, be current with Covid vaccinations and provide the 'personal' info requested in the CS form. Also note there is little public transportation in the Tampa area so guests must have a car or be prepared to use Uber and the like.
Interests
I read a lot, am a fan of classical music and opera, sneak in a little bluegrass from time to time and am a very amateur biologist. I try to travel for several months each year, try to spend September in NYC, frequent visits to friends in DC and in entertaining visitors escaping from the snow in those cold months.
