About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm currently teaching at an international school in Medellin, Colombia. Traveling on weekends and when I get the time, and trying to learn Spanish.

ABOUT Me

I've traveled on and off for the better part of the last 10 years. I lived in China for 3 years and have been pretty much everywhere in Asia and Europe. I like sports, hiking, good food and beer, and an engaging conversation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been lucky enough to have some great hosts and now that I am in one place for an extended period, I would like to host fellow travellers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted a few people in China, and have been hosted (through this account and others) a number of times. They were all excellent experiences with great people, and I am excited to have more experiences in the future.

Interests

I guess the regular stuff, sports, music, movies, literature, is a given, but I will say that I am really, really in to each of them. I will watch almost any sport, and basketball, hockey, and cricket are followed fairly seriously. As for music I like most genres, as long as the music is quality. I don't really like Top 40 radio, as I find that most of it is rebranded over and over again with new hooks, and bigger boobs. I try not to be a music snob, but at times it is hard to understand why people listen to shit music when there is so much good music out there. I also hate when I point out a song or artist to someone, and they take no notice, but then 6 months later when the song is on the radio or the band is on the Grammy's, they are telling me how great they are. It happens a lot.

I also like movies, and books, but I have probably divulged too much already.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling through India was something I will never forget. It was certainly not a vacation, and every day was a challenge, but the reward was a glimpse into a diverse and beautiful culture that is truly amazing.

One thing that I always try to share with others as I travel is music. I love to hear about bands from other countries, and it makes me proud when others take an interest in Canadian music.
