Previously lived in Northern Ireland, England, Japan and Poland. I spend most of my time in Austria these days. Going to be teaching in some new locations through May/ June, and would appreciate some travel tips/ advice on what to see there! And maybe meet some people too.

Interests

Travelling, playing the piano, classical music, 60s psychedelic rock, walks in the country, plum wine, clouds, things that are orange, stormy seas, Victorian architecture, 70s fashion, kimchi, being around books, and avoiding babies and small children.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Anything English, Russian or French, 1900-1950ish. Especially Vaughan Williams, Bax, Sibelius, Nielsen, Janacek (OK, not Russian, but heh), Rachmaninov, Scriabin, Protopopov (Youtube him!).

Otherwise, 60s~70s stuff, anything from Procul and Stackridge to the Bee Gees.

Books: A Dance to the Music of Time (Anthony Powell), The Hollow Land (Jane Gardam), Molesworth (Willans and Searle), Barchester Towers (Anthony Trollope).
