Overview
About Me
I'm a chemical engineer and chemist currently studying at the University of Wisconsin- Madison. I'm originally from Oklahoma, but I moved around quite a bit growing up. I have lived in the Netherlands, Egypt, Denmark, and England and I've been lucky to visit 25+ other countries. Some of my favorites were Iceland, Madagascar, Poland, and Peru, but every trip has been very special!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was introduced to this website by a friend of mine who I was WWOOFing with. (Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms). I've couchsurfed with hosts in Ottawa and Montreal and had a fantastic experience both times.
I love to meet people and love sharing experiences together. For me, I remember the people as much as I do the places.
Interests
I work with a biomedical start-up that makes non-invasive glucose monitors. With no need for finger sticks or any needles at all the device we're developing will greatly improve the quality of life for those with diabetes. I'd love to tell you more about it so feel free to ask!
I'm also an amateur strongman competitor so I've pulled trucks and regularly lift heavy/funnily shaped objects. If you need a hand moving I'm more than willing to help!

Music, Movies, and Books
"The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follettt; "Slaughterhouse Five" by Kurt Vonnegut; and "A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens are some of my favorite books.
I enjoy most music. Some of my favorite bands/musicians are: Sigur Rós; Florence and the Machine; Run the Jewels; and Daft Punk
My top 5 movies are: Pulp Fiction; 2001 Space Odyssey; The Motorcycle Diaries; Office Space; and Love Actually.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've bungee jumped off a bridge between Zambia and Zimbabwe over Victoria Falls. I've also backpacked around Peru for three months and participated in traditional San Pedro ritual. I've won an amateur Strongman competition. I've overseen the building of a water pipeline project with Engineers Without Borders in Guatemala.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you a bit of Polish and lot about chemistry. I'd love to share travel advice for any of the places I've visited (and hear your advice on the places you've been!). I can tell you about what is was like to grow up as an expatriate.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good company and lots of traveling stories. I'm pretty handy and love to fix things. I appreciate hosts sharing their homes with me and am absolutely willing to help around your house/apartment/living space in any way possible.
