About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hear someone's life story from beginning to end.

ABOUT ME

I am not particularly adept at describing myself in words. I can tell you that I am a Music major specializing in voice. I love to make people laugh and I believe everyone is responsible for their own happiness but contributing to the happiness of others has the best rewards. I wake up every morning hoping to balance love of myself as I am and striving to be the best version of myself (according to me). I am me, most days of the week. Other days of the week I am not so much me. Those are the bad days when I deny my best parts.

PHILOSOPHY

The only person who makes decisions in your life is you. You choose what you do and how you react. Accept it and let it empower you. You cannot control other people's reactions, you can only control your actions. Have some fun!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

A friend of mine showed me this website a long time ago. I thought it was pretty epic idea and then never did anything with it. I am changing that now. Give me a call if you want to go on an adventure!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couched surfed officially in London and had a wonderful town. Unofficially, I have spent a lot of time on my friends' and most recently my grandmother's couches.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: "Frankenstein" and Vonnegut's "Man Without a Country", just read Dune for the first time and loved it, made my way through a large portion of Mercedes Lackey, grew up on Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit...Eat, Pray, Love changed my world

Music: Cranberries, Cake, Damien Rice, R.E.M., Wilco, pretty much any early 90's girl alternative band, been recently getting into Dispatch...mostly I am open to anything but I tend to be about two years behind everyone else...

Movies: What Dreams May Come, A Little Princess, Dogma, Office Space, The Shawshank Redemption, Beauty and the Beast, Star Wars, Aladdin, Monty Python and the Holy Grail

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Too many things to even count. Remember, endless curiosity! But my most recent favorite: I danced the Viennese Waltz in the Hofburg. How crazy is that?

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can do really basic crocheting and maybe teach how to sing too? If you can't swim or ice skate or ride a bike then perhaps I can help with that as well. I met a friend of mine by teaching her how to play volleyball--it's one of my favorite memories

Learn: I really want to learn to play the Mbira, I would like to learn how to spin yarn or thread, sheer sheep, light a fire in an emergency, build temporary shelter in a rain storm, the names of every peak in the Olympics and Cascades, I would love to know how to run a farm and live off the land, play the guitar with some form of grace, only to name a few...

Share: Endless curiosity--the world is so much more interesting if you let everything fascinate you; a smile; a hug; perhaps some peace of mind when you've been on the road too long? A cup of coffee or tea, a few nice words and an empty ear waiting to be filled. Really, anything I have or know is up for the asking.
