ABOUT ME

I am from the UK although I have lived in several countries throughout my life. I am generally a pretty laid back person, life is hard enough without having to sweat about the small things.

I have been in Beijing for over 6 years now and have a solid circle of friends and business contacts who I would be happy to introduce.

I am well versed in where to go for the best food, shopping, partying etc. I also speak fluent Mandarin which might come in handy if you need any help getting around (taxis, directions etc).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am relatively new to couch surfing but have surfed twice and thoroughly enjoyed my experience both times. I am looking forward to extending the same courtesy when I host that others have shown me.

Interests

I like reading, learning new things, good movies, some computer games, meeting new people and hanging out with friends.

I am an avid sci-fi/fantasy fan though I am not in to the whole collecting/cosplay thing.

I like rugby, bowling and swimming depending on the weather.

I do enjoy partying though mainly on the weekend as I work regular hours.

I enjoy learning new languages though I only speak three - working on the 4th (damn Russian grammar is so hard)

Music, Movies, and Books

Very open on music (except I am not really a fan of electronic). I have read a broad range of books from Anne Rice to James Clavell and even Harry Potter. Oh yeah, I really admitted to it.

Movies - sci-fi/fantasy, horror, Action, thrillers and comedies. LOTR,MATRIX,RING,MEMENTO,PULP FICTION, HALF BAKED.

One thing that I wish I had known years ago is that everyone is just as confused and unsure as I feel about life and the future. Professionalism is an illusion created to reassure us even though all functions are still operated by people just trying their best not to screw up.

IT specialists still reboot and pray sometimes, Doctors still look at symptoms knowingly while saying "Beats the hell out of me" on the inside.

The best you can hope for is to do your best and carve out your own niche of this terrifyingly large pie that is life.
