About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission in life is to experience everything I can before it's too late. I want to get out and say hello to the world. I am a visually impaired person who wants to shrug off the misconception that disabled people can't have adventures too.

ABOUT ME

I currently live in Chicago, and have a radio show on a few low-power FM stations and on the internet. I play comedy music and talk about technology. I am legally blind, but have enough vision to ride a bike. It's not suggested that I do that but I fart in the face of nay-sayers. I enjoy experiencing life, including the good and the bad. It builds charecter. I'm a total geek, I love computers, radio, phones, and other hi-tech stuff. I love strange music, my hero is "Weird Al" Yankovic. I like to have fun, but I can be serious when I have too or want too. I am easy-going, I don't cause a lot of trouble. I am quiet and courteous. I like to listen to the radio at night but I always wear headphones. I can sleep through noise and if I am woken up I don't get grumpy or upset. I enjoy spending time with people, but won't invade your life if you ask me to stay away. I am in this to make friends, but sometimes a couch is just a couch, I understand.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is so short, why let restrictions hold you down when you could experience so much if you just try. Don't let a disability, or any other thing hold you from living.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since the place I live is not mine, I don't know if I can share a couch. If someone asks I will ask the lady who owns the place. I'd be happy to give feedback to people and help them get better ratings.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've slept in bus-stations, truck-stops, and hotel lobbies. I've crashed on friends hotel room floors, easy chairs, and spare beds. I've had the chance to crash on couches of a friend of a friend of a friend, which is effectively a stranger. Sometimes the experience can be weird but interesting once you get used to it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Comedy, Demented Music, Rock, Almost every kind of music except for overly violent, sexist or racist stuff. Rap is okay if it's not really loud and full of hate. Sci-fi, Fantasy, Adventure, Mystery, Kids, and Biographies. Books about hackers are fun.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was a kid in Boy Scouts, I went to Hawaii for our summer trip. We didn't do the tourist crap, we actually hiked the jungles, camped in the park, and ate authentic cooking. It's an adventure I'll always carry with me.
