ABOUT ME

I am a recent small business owner as I have recently taken over my grandparents bakery! It's a crazy adventure, but I'm loving it. I had been working as a theatre technician (the ones who work backstage and build everything the audience sees) but the New York theatre world got a little too corporate for me. I grew up right next the ocean in a small fishing town, and I can hardly bare being away from the ocean (my friends joke that I'm part fish with salt water in my veins). I'm pretty laid back. I love meeting new people and trying new things. I adore cooking! Nothing is better than being surrounded by people I love and being able to cook for them.

PHILOSOPHY

Anything can be learned, fixed, changed, or experienced as long as you're still breathing air and opening yourself to possibilities.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The couch I have to offer is up here with my mother's profile. As a student and theatre technician I am not settled into a place of my own yet and still use my mom's house when I'm home for the rare month or so.

My mother and I have hosted surfers from all over the world! It's been so amazing.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

1) Staying up all night in New York City and watching the sunrise over the city from a rooftop

2) Once, when I was traveling across country for a family wedding, I got stuck in Arizona because a plane was overbooked. I was going to miss the bus that I had paid $60 for and I couldn't afford to buy another bus ticket. A woman there overheard me on the phone to my family and gave up her seat on the flight for me, she slipped $75 into my bag with a note saying "I would hope someone would do the same to get my own daughter home to me. Good luck!" I was amazed by the kindness I was shown by a total stranger! It gave me a brand new faith in people's ability to do good with no selfish motivation.
