About Me

Hi, I'm Caio!
I'm Brazilian mining engineer and currently pursuing a PhD, but above all, I'm curious about the world. I like to plan my trips carefully, but I also love it when the unexpected happens—it's often precisely these moments that become the best stories.

Traveling, for me, is much more than seeing tourist attractions: it's experiencing the atmosphere of each place, trying the typical food, meeting different people, and hearing stories you won't find in any guidebook. That's why Couchsurfing makes so much sense to me—I believe the best way to get to know a place is through the people who live there.

Music is a great passion: Coldplay is my favorite band, but I listen to a little bit of everything, from Brazilian popular music to EDM, rock to reggaeton, pop to Brazilian funk, indie to country. Besides that, I love hanging out and talking. I can be the guy who'll discuss a serious topic or the one who laughs at silly jokes in the kitchen while we're cooking. together.

I'm a rolezeiro! This is an expression in Brazil that rarely has an equivalent in other languages. In a nutshell, it's a person who likes to go out, party, explore new places, and is always excited and ready for whatever comes their way.

I consider myself a calm, respectful, and organized person. As a guest, I like to contribute in some way—whether it's cooking, helping with small tasks, or simply making conversation. The important thing for me is that the exchange is positive for both parties.

Ultimately, what I seek most are true connections: getting to know places through people, and people through their stories. If I have the opportunity to stay at your home, you can be sure that I will greatly appreciate the experience and hope to leave with good memories as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe the best way to experience a place is through the people who live there. For me, traveling isn’t just about visiting landmarks — it’s about sharing meals, stories, and everyday life with locals.

I enjoy meeting people with different backgrounds, exchanging perspectives, and creating those unique moments that you can’t plan but always remember. Couchsurfing feels like a bridge between cultures, and that’s exactly the kind of connection I’m looking for when I travel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I work underground!

I live in a small city in the Amazon Forest.

I've been to a Coldplay concert... twice :)

Teach, Learn, Share

If you're interested, I can teach you some portuguese!

I also like to share my knowledge about rocks and mining. Since I'm a very curious person, I learn a little bit of a bunch of stuff, and love to share those things.

And I love to learn about EVERYTHING!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share travel stories, interesting facts about Brazil, and even a bit of science, if that's your thing. I also enjoy cooking and learning local recipes—I can help in the kitchen and prepare something typical of my country.

More than that, I share my curiosity, respect, and genuine desire to create a great experience together.
