Overview
About Me
I living in La Roche sur Yon, France serving as an English Teacher in 3 middle schools through a government fellowship. I love exploring nature, seeing the world, meeting new people and hearing their stories.
I just completed my B.A. in French and Anthropology at Gettysburg College. While there, I also specialized in Peace and Justice studies and Environmental Studies.
I enjoy immersing myself in cultures and adventures. Cultural exchange is an art of which we should all experience and discover. My favorite part is meeting and getting to know people from around the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet interesting people I'd otherwise never had the opportunity to come across.
I studied abroad twice in France (once in Saumur and once in Paris), and each of those times I was able to live in a host family who accepted me as if I was one of their own. Living with people who are open to receiving you , sharing their home, culture and wisdom is life changing. The friendships and connections they have given me are irreplaceable. Though couch-surfing is different in its own way, I hope to find those friendships and compassion within other cities and cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all music...I know many people say that but I really mean it. What I listen to always depends on my emotions. If a sound or a lyrics connects with me, that song or album will be on repeat for a month if not more. You name it: jazz, symphonic, pop, rock, alternative, house, spiritual, rap, musicals, acapella...anything....actually there's one type I don't like now that I think about it: country. It's like soap operas for me (melodramatic).

Movies: anything....as long as there's popcorn.

Books: my recent favorites have been ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE and AMERICANAH. Currently open to more reading suggestions because I'm making it a goal to read 12 books for fun in 12 months.
