About Me

Musician, historian and training ethnomusicologist. Living with my girl Julia Mota, also on Couchsurfing.

I live in the southernmost state of Brazil, in the city of Porto Alegre. Studied history and music at college, and have been working as music teacher and professional musician for the past 6 years. Right now I'm developing my interest in the cultural diversity of the world's many musics doing a masters degree in etnhomusicology. Love to jam, I play many instruments and consider myself proficient in many genres (blues, folk, bluegrass, Irish, etc). I've found that music and Couchsurfing are great ways to meet people!

Had the pleasure of travelling to many places in Europe, the Americas and recently southeast Asia. Love outdoor activity, hiking, etc and am also a big photography fan (analog photo enthusiast). Like to cook and love the many extraordinary foods this big world has!

Almost always up for a good talk over a pint, from politics to history and social sciences, or just anything for the sake of
laughing out loud.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, Choro, Irish Trad, Bossa Nova, Flamenco, etc.

Been (perhaps unfortunately) reading loads of anthropological theory and not enough good literature, but I do like to read.

From (some, not much) Hollywood bullshit to "alternative" european and Latin American cinema.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach music, and bits and pieces of things about Brazil, as well as regarding music history and anthropology.

Maybe even how to make a good caipirinha.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Don't know, I guess just being a nice respectful guest, and sharing some of my skills and worldview.
