Hi! I'm Caiti!

I'm originally from New York but haven't actually lived there since 2012. Spent the past few years living and working in London, and now I am out on a travel adventure around the beautiful Pan Asia part of the world (for the foreseeable future).

I am a perpetually positive social butterfly that loves discovering new things and meeting new people where ever I go. Music and food are passion points so usually one or both is somehow involved in everything I do. I love to cook and experiment with different kinds of food, so if you're up for a mini adventure right in your kitchen, I'd be happy to share a meal and a nice bottle of wine.

I run a travel and lifestyle blog - www.cosmictustfall.com - which keeps me busy most days in the constant search for new things to snap photos of and write about. When I'm not doing that, I am an avid runner or sometimes just enjoy finding a quiet place (usually with some sand to squish between my toes) to lay back with some good music and indulge in my thoughts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on a work and holiday visa for the next year in Australia but because I'd like to save as much money as possible so I can continue to build on the travel adventures for the blog, I need to be super financially efficient with housing.

I also love meeting new people and think this will be a great way to step out of the comfort zone of just staying with friends and get to know some more locals! A local's perspective on a city is always the best way to explore the hidden gems a place has to offer.

Interests

Running, cooking, discovering new musical talent, exploring new restaurants/bars/undercover hot dog stands, filling my brain with useless trivia, talking to random strangers (only the nice ones of course), determining if Men In Black was actually based on a true story.

Music, Movies, and Books

Pretty much anything and everything when it comes to music. A few of the recent obsessions include Sylvan Esso, Odezsa, Jack U, The Pierce Brothers, Electus...the list really goes on for a while.

Movie-wise, I tend to stick to things that embrace my inner child (just saw the SpongeBob movie and loved it!), engage me (i.e. I can't guess the ending half way through), or are just mentally stimulating or possibly relevant to my own journey. Recently this has included everything from Intersteallar to Horrible Bosses 2.

Books - I'm usually a non-fiction kind of woman. My current 'beach book' is The Lean Startup by Eric Ries. I also really like things from Malcolm Gladwell and have read The Social Animal by David Brooks at least three times now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Left everything that I knew and which had created a stable life over the course more than a decade to go pursue a life of travel and unknown job security. Fun!
