Hey guys, I'm Caitlin!

I'm a 23 year old Aussie girl, a history student, a research assistant, and a musician. When I'm not studying or working, I love reading, cooking, gardening, hiking, playing music, going to gigs and festivals, and travelling the world. I love to experience different cultures, meet interesting people, and have lively discussions about politics, history, music, art, life, the universe, and everything. I'm easygoing and always up for a chat, a shared meal, a beer, or a jam session if you're musical.

I've used Couchsurfing in the past when travelling, and have always had amazing experiences with it. I've been hosted by wonderful and welcoming people of all ages and backgrounds in cities around the world, and I truly believe there's no better way to get to know a city and its locals. Now that I'm back home for the foreseeable future, I want to return the hospitality that I was shown by the Couchsurfing community, spread the good karma, meet interesting people and share the city that I love with them.

I’m also an avid reader. I adore literary fiction, fantasy, classical literature, philosophy and history. My favourite authors are Donna Tartt, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Isobel Carmody, Jeanette Winterson, Emily Bronte, Tolkien, Oscar Wilde, GRR Martin, and probably many more who I’m forgetting right now.

I obsessively consume TV and films. I love the Handmaid’s Tale, Vikings, Game of Thrones, Band of Brothers, Downton Abbey, Sons of Anarchy, all things Marvel and the MCU. Honestly, there are far too many great movies out there for me to list them all right now!

Travelling to Egypt alone when I was 19 and getting to know an amazing group of Cairo locals, before spontaneously deciding to extend my trip and backpacking around Europe solo.
