About Me

I'm an easy going college student who loves to travel and explore new places! I'm happy to site see or just hang out and chat.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a college student, I am a penny-pincher. So, I couchsurf partly to save money and partly because visiting a place and seeing it through a local's perspective is infinitely more valuable to me than staying in a private hotel room. I love to meet new people!

Interests

My interests are diverse; I'm educated as a chemical engineer, but I'm passionate about environmental policy and resource management. I've learned to play four musical instruments and love to sing (not well, unfortunately). I teach swim lessons and I want to train for a triathlon this year. Museums, parks, coffee shops, parks, and the dance floor are a few of my favorite places to be.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all types of music. Currently I'm very into bluegrass music! 10 Things I Hate About You is my all time favorite movie. I'm just getting into Game of Thrones too! I love a lot of books. I recently finished "Persuasion" by Jane Austen and loved it. Some other books I've enjoyed recently are "Diplomacy" by Henry Kissinger, "Wild" by Cheryl Strayed, and "Anna Karenina" (for a second time) by Leo Tolstoy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At a turtle preserve in Costa Rica I helped guide a few hundred baby sea turtles to the ocean after they hatched. Simply incredible.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some killer dance moves (at least I'll try!), how to swim, or how to count in Thai or Spanish. I can also share the best chocolate chip banana bread recipe in the world!! I worked at a pizza parlor for a few years so I can help you make pizza too. I'd love to learn any local tips such as the best coffee shops or parks. If I don't speak your language, I'd love to learn some. Teach me anything about the local culture; food, drinks, dances, songs, games!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I guarantee we'll have a lot of laughs!
