We own a small cafe/bakery in downtown Nipigon, so our lives are a bit busy, but we hope to continue hosting couch surfers when the timing is right!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Dan and I have couch surfed several times and have thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent with our hosts! We have a hosted quite a few fellow surfers and every experience has been unique!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Caitlin: While travelling in Tasmania and Duluth, my mom and I have had 2 great couch surfing experiences.
Dan and I also met two awesome couples through couch surfing when we travelled to Minneapolis and Penticton.
We look forward to our next couch surfing experience!

We have also hosted quite a few people traveling across Canada.
Nipigon is a great place to stop if your cycling!

Interests

We both love being outside as much as possible, we also love trying new things!

Caitlin: Some of my interests include cooking, yoga, climbing, reading, biking, travelling, dancing, swimming and much much more : ) I also love doing all these things while listening to music.

Dan: well my biggest passions are rock climbing/bouldering and caitlin, but i also quite enjoy hiking seeing new places, trying new things and having fun in anyway.

Music, Movies, and Books

Caitlin: Some of my favourite artists are the Sudden Lovely's, the XX, Mumford and Sons, Hey Rosetta, The Black Keys, BoxCarRacer, The Jezabels, Xavier Rudd, John Butler Trio and the Bats in the Belfry (just to name a few).

Dan: Well my favorite song is Take Me Home by Spirit of the West, but apart from that i like almost any music. I cant really say i have just one favorite movie but I definitely like comedies far more than any other genre.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Caitlin: Some places I have travelled to that I would love to visit again are Florence (Italy), New Zealand, Tasmania, Victoria (BC) & Mexico. I would also like to explore the East Coast of Canada, Thailand and Spain. Some of my most memorable experiences are cooking in Italy, rock climbing in New Zealand and Mexico

Dan: I still feel like i haven't seen much yet but i think coolest place Ive been is the needles in south dakota, climbing there was magnificent,there is spires everywhere. ive also been around canada because of running comps. and still want to go to spain. maybe meet chris sharma
I have been rock climbing in El Potrero Chico, Mexico twice and loved it both times.

Teach, Learn, Share

Caitlin: I have been cooking a long time, but am now mostly interested in plant based recipes. I am always looking to share my food experiences and learn more from others.

Dan: After climbing for 20+ years one of the things i like to do best is watch beginners climb, im always amazed at how they see the wall vs how i see it, which is why i love to teach people how to climb. but I also quite enjoy climbing and watching all other skill levels.

We also love showing people around Nipigon, especially when it comes to hiking.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We have a futon in our living room, and sometimes a spare room with a single depending on whats going on in our lives.
