I'm Caitria, a designer and mountaineer. Thomas is a software engineer and alpinist. We're spending the next year or so living out of backpacks and working all over the world. We're looking for beautiful outdoor spaces and friends to go hiking and climbing with, wherever we land. We're happy, easy-going, and curious individuals. Want to meet up?
I just finished up a year as a fellow/adjunct faculty member at Stanford's Design School (the d.school), learning and teaching about design for crisis moments. Learn more here: http://dschool.stanford.edu/fellowships/2014/06/20/caitria-oneill-design-for-the-weary/
Previously, I founded and ran Recovers.org, a disaster relief organization, in Boston and Silicon Valley. You can learn more about that effort here: https://www.ted.com/talks/caitria_and_morgan_o_neill_how_to_step_up_in_the_face_of_disaster
Before that, I held a collection of odd jobs to fund my travel habit, including street musician, adventure expedition guide in Norway, bartender and editor.
A person can choose to be happy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've surfed in three continents now and hosted in two. I love the idea and have loved the experience.
Music, backpacking, literature, rock climbing, politics, kayaking, fresh produce, laughter and any combination of those things.
Adventures that change your life plans and that ashy kind of silence on an early morning train.
