About Me

CURRENT MISSION

make this world a better place, of course!

ABOUT ME

I'm quite relaxed, calm, and easy going. Always in the mood to learn and experience new things and share these experiences with others.

PHILOSOPHY

There is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.

- Hosting people, trying to give them some insight in the Berlin-way-of-life

- Surfing and sharing travel experiences

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A few so far, all of which I really enjoyed. Hosted really interesting and fun people who made me discover new aspects of Potsdam and Berlin. I also had a very good time staying at people's places in Poland and receiving tips where to find the best milk-bar etc.

Interests

Writing, reading, music, basketball, biking, hiking, swimming, meditation, yoga, cooking (vegetarian), wine-tasting, traveling, trying to improve my Spanish

Music, Movies, and Books

Some authors I like: Susan Sontag, William Faulkner, Tom Wolfe , David Foster Wallace, Philip Roth, Doris Lessing.

Music-wise,I grew up with trip-hop and hip-hop, but recently I'm getting more and more into jazz, post-rock, and alternative rock.

Movies: mostly 'art-house' movies with an intriguing story to express one particular perspective on life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Celebrating New Year's eve on the peak of the Tajamulco mountain in Guatemala.

Going from Moscow to Bangkok overland: together with a friend, I rode the Trans-Siberian railway to lake Baikal, then turned south through Mongolia, along the Chinese east coast and then to the South, finally crossed Laos and Northern Thailand to Bangkok.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you a lot about environmental issues - but only if you want to. I'm not trying to brain-wash my guests :D. If you come to Potsdam or Berlin, I can give you some history lessons so that you might be a bit less confused by the question which Friedrich and which Friedrich Wilhelm did what.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, China, India, Jamaica, Laos, Mexico, Mongolia, New Zealand, Russian Federation, Singapore, Thailand, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Belgium, Germany, Guatemala, Switzerland
