About Me
Well, where to start. Signing up for this is a bit of a daring thing for me. I'm an introvert and have always lived a bit of a safe life and just didn't do a whole lot growing up. 5 years ago when I was 21 I moved from IL to California, and for whatever reason, a spirit of adventure, travel and new experiences awakened in me. I love going to new places. I pretty much eat a different place every time I eat out. I am a huge movie buff, and would actually really love to become a cinematographer. I also started taking up photography as this past year and can't get enough of it. I am somewhat shy but have come a long way from where I use to be. I just want to live life, see the world, and meet new people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To be honest, I simply googled how to travel on a budget, and several articles references this site, so I thought why the heck not. I really wanna start traveling and experience new things (not really a thrill junkie though). Just singing up and seeing where this takes me.
Music, Movies, and Books
With music, I can go all day. I love everything from Dawn Richard, to Sufjan Stevens, to film scores and System of a Down. My main music tastes in R&B and indie rock, but I have a love for all sorts of music (though country is sort of a genre I could leave out). For movies, I honestly don't know where to start. To name a few I really like Taxi Driver, Perfume: Story of a Murderer, The Matrix, Mad Max: Fury Road, A Tale of Two Sisters.
I use to read a lot, unfortunately, as of late, I haven't read much, but I have always liked Dean Koontz, I can tell you that much haha.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For sure, one of the most amazing things I have done was go to Guatemala. I went on a missions trip when I was 18 and it was something else. I got to serve other people, while being on there level and realizing we are all equal. I got to meet quite a few people there who, don't have much, but at the same time have it all, and that is something worthwhile.
Moving from Chicago to California has kind of been amazing, as well as very difficult at times. I've learned a lot from moving here, but also have so much more to learn, and I'm excited...and also nervous, and worries, but also hopeful.
What I Can Share with Hosts
To be honest, not that much. I can share my thoughts and feelings, I can share my love for movies and photography (can do a photo shoot with them :D). I can share some yoga as I've been taking that recently as well.
This is kind of a tough question.
