About Me

Hi Everybody!

I am an American college student, taking a semester off to travel, learn Spanish and more about the world. I am currently in Peru and will be in South Africa and Namibia in a few weeks. After that, well, we'll just have to see!

I study International Political Economy and Business but I'm also interested in whatever you are! I run marathons and triathlons, hunt, fish, hike, climb a little, travel....I don't do any of these things particularly well but I love doing them!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling AND meeting new people so couch surfing seems like a fantastic combination of the two. I'm currently learning Spanish and would love to get to chance to practice with more people.

Interests

Sorry to repetitive but I run marathons and triathlons, hunt, fish, hike, climb a little, travel, read and socially dance (terribly).

Beyond that, I'm very interested in world economics and politics, renewable energy, micro-finance and other nerdy things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Admittedly, I have a pretty horrible taste for music and movies. Most of what I listen to could have been found on the top 40 list in 2009 and I haven't found a romantic comedy I don't enjoy.

As far as books go, I read a lot of nonfiction. Recently I've read Creating a World Without Poverty, Abundance: The Future Is Better Than You Think, Talent is Overrated, Civilization: The West and the Rest and a ton of Greentech Media articles,

Also, podcasts are great.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have a scar on my left butt cheek from where a leopard bit me (I'll leave out the fact that it was a 6kg baby and I still ran away like a screaming child.)

Teach, Learn, Share

“In my walks, every man I meet is my superior in some way, and in that I learn from him.”

― Ralph Waldo Emerson

What I Can Share with Hosts

I LOVE to cook and I am not terrible at it! Let me cook for you!

I am friendly, easy-going and very low maintenance. I'd love to talk to you about ANYTHING! That being said, I am perfectly content alone if you aren't in the mood to deal with a stupid American kid.

Countries I’ve Visited

Botswana, Canada, Costa Rica, England, Germany, Mexico, Namibia, Peru, Zimbabwe

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
