ABOUT ME

I am an artist and I plan on attending art school afterwards for illustration and fine arts @ Ringling College of Art and Design. Caleb is going to be a psychologist and fix all the messed up people in this world. I'm a vegetarian and I love animals with my whole heart. I believe in rights for animals and I think that when an individual hates animals...it's kinda a character flaw. I love the environment and anything that is green friendly. I love literature and words and despite how annoying my classes often are I couldn't imagine studying anything else other than English. I am very proud to be 100% Italian and Caleb is pretty proud of his Scotch-Irish-Welsh mix. He'll try to tell you he's somewhat native american but in reality he has like...1/8ish at most. Ha. We are psychos for good music and anything else that shows that there can still be found beauty and art-form in this chaotic violent world. We're effin funny. Freal. We will make you laugh until your jaw really hurts from smiling and that is probably the number one reason we fell in love. We love God and Jesus and are proud of our Christian faith. But if you are anything other than Christian, we'd be more than happy to hear about it and understand why it works for you. :) Hm. what else...we're MAC people and we generally love everything apple. As far as politics go, we are pretty liberal conservatives and we consider ourselves "moderate." Voting time is hard for me because I've yet to find a candidate with christian morals that cares about the earth.

PHILOSOPHY

We are Christians and we live our lives the way Jesus would have us. It makes us very sad that Christianity is given such a bad name by uber right wing Republicans that have been southern baptist for so long that they no longer remember why they call themselves Christian. Regardless of the fact that a better world awaits after death, this life is a gift. And for a "time-out" period, God sure did make this earth wonderous and beautiful. I see the beauty and artistic nature of our maker every day in the trees, and sky, and nature...often times it is hard to see the beauty in people but I believe you should never stop searching for it. People are beautiful...and yeah the world messes them up....a lot...but deep down inside everyone needs warmth and love and friendship.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We didn't know what couchsurfing was until we went to Europe last summer. We made an awesome friend, Vasco who lives in Zurich, Switzerland. He was so kind and opened up his home to us and through him we came to understand the whole deal of couchsurfing. At first, we were very wary and we kinda told him, "Man...this would never fly in America. Way too much violence to trust even your own friends, let alone some perfect stranger." But what we found was...a lot of Europeans are WAY more trust worthy than Americans. And most often what you see is what you get and we really couldn't believe the extension of hospitality we received from Vasco and his awesome roommates. (This swiss are amazing!). We had a flight at the crack of dawn and they wanted to go out and party and when we declined they were like, "Yeah, definitely, get some sleep, our house is yours...eat anything you want in the fridge." AND THEY LEFT US ALONE IN THEIR HOUSE. It was overwhelming and we couldn't believe how good of people they were.

The Food Network with special attention to Ina Garten, Alton Brown, Giada di Laurentiis, Bobby Boy Flay, Paula Deen, Michael Chiarello, Dave Liebermann, Iron Chef and on rainy days...Unwrapped. The Animal Planet always.

Right now I'm reading Sylvia Plath's unabridged journals. Intense. Some of my favorite people to read include but are not limited to: Sylvia Plath, William Wordsworth, Theodore Roethke, Henrik Ibsen, Jaques Derrida, John Keats, T.S. Eliot, Lois Lowry, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Sammy T Coleridge, Shakes, John Donne, William Faulkner, Flannery O'Connor, Hemingway, C.S. Lewis...so much more. I love a WHOLE slue of adolescent lit like Lord of The Flies, Catcher In The Rye, The Giver, To Kill A Mockingbird, Into The Land of the Unicorns, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe to name a few. 1984, All Quiet on the Western Front, The Sun Also Rises, The Sound and The Fury, Hedda Gabbler and The Screwtape Letters are some of my favorite pieces of Lit. I'm an English major. Does that give you an idea of how much I read...

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Going to Europe was amazing. A lot of amazing things were done and seen there...But on a less grandiose scale...we find amazement in a lot of simple things also...like just hanging out with good people maybe with some hookah and just being real ya know. We are not big on clichéness...at all. We are pretty damn discerning people and we tend to see right through pretentiousness and artificiality so let's just keep it real fosho niccas :)

Hm...we can teach you that all Christians are not the same. We will never preach to you, but we will gladly engage in any theological conversation you wish to have. I'm Italian and I will be more than gladly to show you my warm Italian nature and make you fond of hugs. I'm an awesome baker and cook and if you need help in that department I'll help you there also. Caleb will make you laugh a lot. Hell, we'll both make you laugh. We'll give you a different view of Americans and hopefully it will be one you like.
