ABOUT ME

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that you've probably never met a Canadian like myself. I'll make you laugh, I'll make you cry and I'll leave you with some of the best memories of any Canadian you'll ever meet.

Now if you're still reading I'll let you get to know me a little by giving you some details about myself. I'm a self diagnosed travel addict and at the age of 24 I'm almost half was to my goal of seeing 100 countries before I die! I'm pretty easy going, love meeting new people and like to have fun and enjoy life to the fullest.

I have spent the last 3 years working in the ever cold winters of Canada(Even though I hate the cold) and have spent the summers travelling to far away places. In 2007 I travelled around Europe, in 2008 I travelled around SE Asia and this year I spent 4 months in Ireland and then backpacked Europe again for 3 months.

There are only a few things I enjoy more than travelling, my friends and family who make it harder and harder to leave every year and hockey. Yes I'm a typical Cannadian kid in the fact that I absolutely love hockey, it's part of the reason I come back to Canada every winter. I play it, I watch it, I live it, I breathe it!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well I'm fairly new to the CS community but I really hope to become a regular member, one that offers advice or a couch to those that need it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've had just two couchsurfing experiences but both were more than I could have expected! The first was in Copenhagen, Denmark when my girlfriend and I found ourselves in a jam and needed a place to stay. Luckily a very generous CS member offered up her couch and let us crash for a night. I was nervous the first time but this woman made our trip through Copenhagen! She was amazing and I couldn't have imagined a better experience.
My second experience was in Cardiff, Wales when again my girlfriend and I found ourselves without a place to stay. Again luckily a CS member took us into her home and let us stay in her spare room. She was soo great and we enjoyed staying with her so much that we stayed an extra night.

I really look forward to more experiences, both surfing and hosting!

Well other than the obvious travel addiction everyone on this site has, I'm a huge hockey fan, I love meeting new people and learning about new cultures. I also like to Scuba Dive, play poker and read.

Movies: Shawshank Redemption, Saving Private Ryan, Anchorman and basically anything with Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller or Jason Segel.

Music: I'm all over the place with music, I like almost all types of music. My favorites though would be City and Colour, Death Cab, Kings of Leon, The Kooks, MGMT, Passion Pit, Eminem and Game.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I've been through almost 50 countries and have had a lot of great experiences but I think the one that sticks out the most is when I was diving in Sipadan of Malaysian Borneo. I will never forget this one dive, I was still fairly new to diving and had never seen a turtle or a shark up close before. On this dive we must have seen 20+ turtles and probably 40 Sharks. They were swimming all around us, some even bumpeed into us. I will never forget how scared and yet excited I was to see a shark at a distance let alone have them swimming all around me.

To this date I haven't had a dive that even came close to that day!

There are 4 things that I could talk for hours about. Travel, Hockey, Poker and cars. Seriously, if you wanna know about any of those 4 topics, be prepared to learn ;-) I would say my favorite thing to teach people though is Poker, I've played poker avidly for more than 6 years and know the game pretty well.

Things I want to learn? Well I alsways want to learn about new cultures and languages. That's always been something thhat I've enjoyed when meeting new people.
