About Me

2025 UPDATE
I haven't hosted anyone for several years, and we have left California to live in a small town in southern Arizona. It's not the most exciting place, but there's a National Forest not far away and some hiking trails, a museum about the Buffalo Soldiers, great views of the mountains from our front yard while drinking morning coffee. Sierra Vista is the hummingbird capital of the U.S., and there is a delightful bird sanctuary. We also dash off to the charming town of Patagonia frequently for a jam session or to dance at the Patagonia Lumber Company with folks our age. I retired in 2016 from a full-time position as a Spanish interpreter, but still work part of the year.

My husband Ron is a gentle and wise man, great at conversation. He will pretty much go anywhere I want to go -- or the places where you might want to go.

We are close to Tombstone and to Bisbee, historic towns with very different populations and vibes. We are still adventurous and always glad to find new things and places to go. Sierra Vista is about an hour and a half south of Tucson, where we also enjoy going, so a trip there is certainly within range.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started Couchsurfing 20+ years ago and hosted about 80 or more people. It brought great joy to life.

Now my husband and I are old -- in body, if not in spirit. But we still enjoy getting out and about and meeting new people.

Teach, Learn, Share

Pretty good at putting together great itineraries for seeing the Bay Area. I can teach you Spanish and a little bit of piano. Like to increase foreign language skills and computer skills. A dream would be having someone who plays piano or guitar to sing along with as a shared experience.
