I'm going to take almost a year off from working all the time and travel the world! After that its time for college and I want a PhD someday

ABOUT ME

I'm a smart guy, I'm about to finish a 4 year stint in the US Navy. I am/was a Machinists Mate (mechanical engineer for boilers) stationed on the USS Kitty Hawk CV-63 out of Yokosuka, Japan for 3 years. I didn't like my time in the navy very much hence me not re-enlisting. I want to get back to my liberal roots and someday get into alternative energy research.

PHILOSOPHY

Contrast is the key to happiness. There can't be any good in life without the bad, otherwise it would all just be normal. Try not to hurt others along the way, don't give up without at least trying. See and do as much as you can in your time here, and love conquers all. Nos et cedamus amori.

I haven't been able to participate much so far since i've been living on an aircraft carrier and working all the time. I hope to participate more once I have a place of my own!

None so far, I hope to have my first on the way home from the Navy!

Interests

I love my mountain bike, science, reading, I used to be a huge geek playing games all the time but not so much anymore. I like playing paintball, taking apart things for fun. I consider myself an amateur photographer, but who doesn't these days? I dabble in writing and I used to draw a lot and take up a pencil and pad once in a while.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Shawshank Redemption, Grave of the Fireflies, Schindler's List, Map of the Human Heart, James Cameron movies, Good Will Hunting, good indie movies... theres too many to name. In books, Stranger in a Strange Land, Starship Troopers, The Naked Ape, The Fountainhead, Exodus, Mila 18, The Foundation Trilogy, and so many more. I'm reading The Count of Monte Cristo at the moment. Musics, I'm rediscovering the Beatles right now, and I love classical rock. Pretty much anything besides country is good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got my first apartment in a foreign country, Been to over 10 countries before I turned 22, Met the assistant chief of police of Dubai in a bar in Malaysia.
